The Splendid Spotted Snake

This month has been all about learning colours and the kids as well as the teachers, have really enjoyed being able to come to school wearing their favourites! As we ended the month, we found a way to tie together all the colours the kids have been learning about, through a story one of our students Mother's showed us- the Splendid Spotted Snake. Its a sweet story about a Yellow Snake that begins to grow and as he grows, page over page through the appearance of a yellow ribbon that too grows, he develops new coloured spots; red, green, blue, purple, orange, black and white. Eventually, the spots become blended.

We invited Conan's mother, Joanna to not only come into the classroom to read the story, but to help with a craft wherein each child got to make their very own Splendid Spotted Snake. Everyone really enjoyed the activity!

Everyone listening closely and watching the ribbon snake grow!
